His cheats
Cheat with your hands.
No menus. Every cheat is a move you make on the table, under his nose.
Three to start

And in the full game

Bring three to every run. Pick your poison.
Suspicion
Read the Devil.
Every cheat raises his Suspicion, and what it costs depends on where his eyes are. Wait for the glance away. Push too far and his hand comes down on yours.

Beyond pairs and flushes
Hands poker forgot.
Three sixes are The Beast. Black aces and black eights are a Dead Man's Hand. Some hands his deck can't deal at all. Forge one and he'll pay. He'll also notice.

The main run
Go down.
The Descent goes circle by circle. Each has its own dealer and one rule that bends the game: two decks at once, no low cards, less time every hand. Beat a circle's stake to go deeper. The first two circles are free. Who deals below them, you'll have to go down and see.

IThe Ferryman. The house rules. Nothing changed.

IICerberus. Two decks deal at once.

IIIDealer unseen. No cards below seven.

IVDealer unseen. He never calls a Pair.

VDealer unseen. Less time, every hand.

VIDealer unseen. Only hearts and spades.

VIIDealer unseen. Only jacks, queens, kings and aces.

VIIIDealer unseen. He looks away less.

IXDealer unseen. Just you and him.
At the door
Make a deal.
Between circles he lays tarot on the rail. Boons help. Curses hurt, and pay more. Take one, or walk past. His deck grows the deeper you go.
Once a day · the same for everyone
One deal. Everyone.
Once a day his slot machine deals the Pit: the same cards, the same bargain and the same kit for every player on Earth. You get one attempt. See where you stand at his table, then come back tomorrow.
Pull the lever for fun. Drag the knob down, or press the plate. In the game, one pull a day decides the Pit for everyone.
